How do you know you're getting old?

What's the worst part of getting older? Is it not being able to do some of the things we used to do? Noticing a few more gray hairs or when the first time some kids say yes sir or no ma'am? All those things maybe the case, but what stuck out to me was that I have lost several people close to me. I know everyone has deaths in their live, but just a few years ago I would boast how I still had both of my grandmothers in my life. Now I sit hear thinking how my children will never get a chance to feel the love that they gave me. It seems like the older I get, the people closest to me pass away. It starts with a grandparent here, then an uncle, maybe a cousin, a friend...sound familiar? Sorry if I sound so grim, but I hadn't experienced a death in the family until I was an adult, never even thought of it growing up.

As I sit here almost middle aged , I think about getting old. Not in a sense that my life is on the down hill, but who will I lose next? I know you can't go through life thinking that way, but that's what this blog is for. I guess it's like a force taking everyone around that you love anyway until it eventually gets you. Is this how it works? If so, that part of getting "old" sucks!!!!

There is no limit to discovering yourself and understanding life. The understanding is as infinite as God Himself. Our purpose is directly related to this discovery, this seeking of TRUTH.

"Is this how it works?" you ask.

I say, don't stop asking. Don't stop your curiosity, your wonderment. Be anything but apathetic and indifferent to it all.

  3. Although yearning for knowledge and understanding life is healthy, the one thing I have learned is that EVERYTHING on this earth (people, places and things) belongs to God. Until we understand the divine order of things as God intended, we will better understand the purpose of our lives.

Seek ye first the kingdom of God and all these things will be added unto you.
